Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing and using ShellMinder.ai ("Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

ShellMinder provides persistent shell session management, allowing you to:

  • Create and manage remote SSH shell sessions (screen/tmux)
  • Access sessions via web browser, mobile apps, or Discord
  • Receive notifications when sessions need attention
  • Manage multiple hosts and sessions simultaneously

3. User Accounts

Account Creation

  • You must authenticate via an OAuth provider (Google, GitHub, or Discord)
  • You are responsible for maintaining the security of your OAuth account
  • You must provide accurate information
  • One account per person

Account Security

  • You are responsible for all activity under your account
  • Notify us immediately of any unauthorized access
  • We are not liable for losses from unauthorized account use

4. Acceptable Use

You May Use ShellMinder To:

  • Manage your own SSH sessions on servers you own or have permission to access
  • Monitor and interact with your shell sessions
  • Receive notifications about your sessions

You May NOT Use ShellMinder To:

  • Access systems without authorization
  • Distribute malware or conduct attacks
  • Violate any laws or regulations
  • Interfere with other users' sessions
  • Reverse engineer or exploit the Service
  • Share your account with others

5. SSH Credentials and Host Access

  • You are solely responsible for the SSH credentials you provide
  • You must have authorization to access any hosts you add to ShellMinder
  • We store credentials securely but are not liable for unauthorized access to your remote hosts
  • You should use dedicated SSH keys for ShellMinder (not your primary keys)

6. Service Availability

  • We strive for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted service
  • We may perform maintenance with or without notice
  • We are not liable for service disruptions or data loss
  • You should maintain your own backups of important data

7. AI Services

  • We may use AI to analyze terminal output for monitoring purposes
  • System-level AI (Ollama) processes data locally
  • If you provide personal API keys (OpenAI, Anthropic), your data may be sent to those services
  • AI analysis results are cached to reduce costs
  • You control which AI provider is used via your profile settings

8. Notifications

  • You control notification preferences in your profile
  • Discord notifications require you to provide a webhook URL
  • We are not responsible for notification delivery failures
  • You may disable notifications at any time

9. User Content

  • You retain ownership of your terminal sessions and data
  • You grant us the right to store and process your data to provide the Service
  • You are responsible for the content of your sessions
  • We may remove content that violates these Terms

10. Termination

By You

  • You may delete your account at any time via the Settings page
  • Deletion removes all your sessions, hosts, and credentials
  • Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone

By Us

  • We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms
  • We may terminate the Service with 30 days notice
  • We will provide a data export option upon termination

11. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW:

  • The Service is provided "AS IS" without warranties of any kind
  • We are not liable for any damages arising from use of the Service
  • We are not liable for unauthorized access to your remote hosts
  • We are not liable for data loss or service interruptions
  • Our total liability is limited to the fees you paid in the last 12 months

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless ShellMinder.ai from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from:

  • Your use of the Service
  • Your violation of these Terms
  • Your violation of any rights of another party
  • Unauthorized access to hosts using credentials you provided

13. Changes to Terms

We may modify these Terms at any time. Significant changes will be announced via:

  • Email notification to your registered address
  • Prominent notice on the Service

Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

14. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles.
